ASMSU finally launched the safe ride program after four years of preparation. This pilot program will run six weeks, from 10 PM to 3 AM Sunday to Wednesday. MSU students can use this program via an app called TransLoc or call (517)-884-8069 for taxi service. The service will be free and easy to access for students. Program will run until the end of spring semester, and will continue if students vote yes on tax funding on safe ride program. So far the program has received mostly positive feedback from both drivers and passengers.

Jason Barnett who is  Vice President for Finance and Operations at ASMSU said that most feedback they received from passengers and drivers are very positive. According research conduct by ASMSU,  most students feel safe when they are walking on campus but feel less safe when they walk off campus, ASMSU believe that the safe ride program will offer service for students who are working late or need a ride from friend's house a free, safe experience. Student Selma Kijamet has used the service for two times now and she is very satisfied with experience so far.

On March 26th, CAS496 The Television Pilot class crew arrived at Professor Tim Busfield and actress Melissa Gilbert 's house at 12 P.M. and set up equipments for the scene. The first scene features part of the crew work as students in the scene, it shot in one take. Later in the day, actor Dylan Baker and Broadway star Marin Mazzie arrived on the scene, greet with student crew and start preparing for the scene. At afternoon, actor Jeff Daniels and his wife Kathleen Rosemary Treado arrive on the set and watch the filming process for few hours. In between takes, actors shared some anecdotes from their past acting performances and students are very interested in it.

The topic of class CAS 496 is The Television Pilot, this class required the whole class work as a filming crew and make a n television pilot . Professor  Tim Busfield  and his wife, actress  Melissa Gilbert  are working as director and leading actors for this pilot. The crew has been filming for 3 weeks in a row now. On Sunday March 26th, the crew will be doing one of the biggest scene in the whole pilot, and class invited actor Dylan Baker and Broadway star Marin Mazzie to act in the scene. Whole crew are excited to work with professional actors and improve their skills.
